Tate Shafer

Tate Shafer serves as a Vice President at Centerstone, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Information Systems from The Wharton School. His career has focused on three primary pillars:

Investments

•Tate has worked with over a half-dozen investment firms, including holding positions as Associate at a multi-billion dollar Private Equity/Venture Capital Firm (AEA Investors Inc.) and Quantitative Analyst at a multi-billion dollar Hedge Fund (Concordia Advisors). He has developed trading strategies, pricing models, and portfolio management systems for several additional alternative investment vehicles and trading operations in the credit, equity, and equity derivatives spaces. Most recently, Tate worked as a Senior Quantitative Developer in Analytics at Tradition NA, developing pricing models and data publication spreadsheets for global derivative securities.

Financial and Corporate Training

•Tate has over a decade of experience in developing content for Learning & Development programs and delivering them via classroom and virtual instruction. Most recently, Tate served as Associate for Financial Edge, a leading Investment Banking training company. Previously, he acted as Chief Learning Officer for Trade Informatics, a leading data analytics provider to buy-side investment firms. He has served as Head of Educational Product Development at Vettery, Inc., a finance-oriented recruiting firm in New York, NY, and Instructor and Director of Product Development for Manhattan Prep (a subsidiary of Kaplan, Inc.). He has also served as an instructor and content expert for training programs involving investments, private equity, and FINRA professional licensing examinations.

Business & Data Analytics

•Tate’s consulting and professional engagements in Business/Data Analytics have included writing a series of Excel modeling cases for use in classes taught by Steven O. Kimbrough, Professor of Operations, Information and Decisions (OID) at The Wharton School; authoring of the Business Analytics skills assessment test for Vettery, Inc., a finance-oriented recruiting firm in New York, NY; and performing the ongoing scoring calibration of GMAT and GRE practice computer-adaptive tests for Manhattan Prep.
