Dave McTague
Dave McTague is co-founder and active operating partner of Prosper Brands, and a fashion industry executive with nearly 30 years of experience. Mr. McTague has developed a strong business acumen by leading and operating myriad successful brands, including start ups, digitally native, and complex global wholesale and retail companies, as well as rebuilding businesses with well over $800M in revenue. His unique experiences include creating and executing strategic plans focused on dynamic commercial growth, brand building, cutting edge product design, merchandising, sourcing and production, category expansion, digital marketing, dynamic e-commerce, and the required teams and infrastructure to support their execution.
He is fortunate to be a part of creating, executing, and monetizing some of the most successful brands and innovative private and public business models within consumer products, from Tommy Hilfiger; Victorinox Swiss Army; Nike brand assets of Converse, Converse by John Varvatos, and Converse One Star for Target to Isaac Mizrahi; Liz Claiborne at JCPenney; DKNY; LCNY at QVC; and the dynamic reengineering, branding, product development and ultimate sale of Cole Haan to Apax Partners for $570M for Nike. Mr. McTague has also been involved in the consumer products and brand creation of Ellen DeGeneres’ product line across 30 categories, from digitally native to multi-tiered global retail distribution. The inherent complexities of each of these brands were developed across diverse commercial expansions, including digital retail, US and international vertical retail, wholesale department stores in the better and bridge tiers, specialty stores, mass retail and off-price channels.
